We just finished reading about Teancum's ninja moves in the dead of night and how he put an end to Amalickiah. Unfortunately, Amalickiah had an equally evil brother, Ammoron.
In Alma chapter 53 we are introduced to Helaman's 2,000 Strippling Warriors! Sweet, young, Ammonites who stepped forward to fight to protect their fathers' oaths to foreswear bloodshed. (Alma 53:14) We will read more of these valiant youth tomorrow.
Ammoron and Moroni negotiated for the exchange of prisoners and very strong words were exchanged. Ammoron was SO rude, Moroni canceled all negotiations and declared, "I will seek death among them until they shall sue for peace!" He then hatched a GENIUS plan that came together because "the Nephites were not slow to remember the Lord their God," and things turned out better than they could have imagined.
Let's be QUICK to remember the Lord our God, so things can turn out better than WE can ever imagine! :) Enjoy your time in the BOM today!!

"And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all—they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted. Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught to keep the commandments of God and to walk uprightly before him." Alma 53:20-21

“Though the task seems large, we are strengthened by the truth: 'The greatest force in this world today is the power of God as it works through man.' If we are on the Lord's errand, we are entitled to the Lord's help. That divine help, however, is predicated upon our worthiness. To sail safely the seas of mortality, to perform a human rescue mission, we need the guidance of that eternal mariner-- even the great Jehovah. We look up, we reach out to obtain heavenly help.”--Thomas S. Monson, “The Call for Courage,” Ensign, May 2004, 57.
