Day 47: Alma 42-44

Welcome to Day 47...

Alma concluded his beautiful teachings to Corianton then answered questions about a world without repentance, sin, law, and punishment. He pointed out that God is perfectly just and merciful.

Alma chapter 42 lays out the Plan of Redemption and helps us understand why we're here on earth and how important this mortal experience is to our eternal progression.

Then we are introduced to the first Moroni of the Book of Mormon - an amazing twenty-five year old military leader!

Moroni told his warriors to stop fighting when they were close to completely destroying their enemies. He was mighty in battle but not bloodthirsty. Note how he drastically differed from Zerahemnah's leadership approach. Righteous leader vs. wicked leader.

What are we fighting for now? How is the Lord helping us fight our battles? What is the best way to win battles? Enjoy the commencement of the war chapters of the Book of Mormon!

“This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth, Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help. We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues.” --Thomas S. Monson, “An Attitude of Gratitude,” Ensign, Feb 2000,2.

  • Record thoughts and impressions in your journal.
